Baby Edward
Edward’s birth – January 2009 “I think I would have had a caesarean had I not kept calm”
Hi Mia,

I've been meaning to let you know how it all went for a while now but my computers been broken! Unfortunately I didn't get the home birth I wanted because I had very high blood pressure in the couple of weeks leading to the birth and my midwives advised me that I needed to be in hospital to be monitored. So then things went even more off plan when I went into labour because the baby's head was the wrong way round and the labour wasn't progressing! So 30 hours later I was given the hormone drip to bring the baby along and I had an epidural because of the problems with my blood pressure. So all in all things didn't go how I wanted them to but I ended up with a beautiful & healthy baby boy called Edward weighing 7lb 8oz. But throughout the VERY long labour I never experienced much pain and remained calm and I put down to hypnobirthing. So even though I never got to carry out the hypnobirthing to the end, I definitely feel like what I had learnt at your classes really helped me & I think I would have ended up having a caeserian had I have not kept calm and managed the pain so well. So I have been recommending you to all my pregnant friends & I will hopefully see you on my next baby!
