Guinevere Webster Region Oxford

I’m a clinical psychologist and worked in the NHS for nine years at the National Spinal Injuries Centre, where I became interested in how mindfulness meditation could help people find acceptance and manage chronic pain. More recently, I trained as a birth and postnatal doula, and am completing studies with the NCT as a postnatal leader, and with the Tavistock in infant development. I am also a babywearing consultant, co-leading Oxford Sling Meet since 2008, and a voluntary lay breastfeeding counsellor.

In 2009 I completed Mark Williams’ mindfulness programme at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, which opened my eyes to the benefits of mindfulness for birthing women and new parents. When in 2011 I came across Mindful Mamma online everything suddenly fell into place. I am really excited to be able to offer the benefits of mindfulness and self-hypnosis to expectant parents and new families in such an accessible and enjoyable form.

I have two young children who are truly my best teachers in cultivating mindfulness!

Diane Laird Region Dorset

Diane is a qualified Cognitive Hypnotherapist working in Wimborne, Dorset. She has been working with children and families for over 20 years. For the last 7 years she has worked primarily within early years, recognising the importance of early attachments in promoting positive family relationships. She is still working within a large children’s charity delivering training to both staff and parents on attachment and parenting.

Diane is particularly interested in supporting the couple relationship to enable both parents to be supported and supportive within their parenting role, beginning in pregnancy.  Diane is delighted to be delivering the Mindful Mamma material and to see the positive benefits in the men and women that attend.

“This course gives parents to be an excellent foundation in how they get work together to support their baby’s arrival, increasing their sense of control and confidence to have the birth they want.”

Diane has 3 children aged 15, 12 and 4 who are the source of great joy. However Diane is grateful to the mindful techniques she has learnt, to help her with some of the challenges that present!

Caroline Baddiley Region Dorset

Hello, my name is Caroline and I have been happily married for nearly 40 years and we have a grown up son and daughter and two lovely little grandsons.

I have been a midwife for 17 years, working as an Independent midwife for the past 12 years. I chose to go Independent so that I could work fully and autonomously with my clients and build a trusting, caring professional relationship with them.

I have seen how fear has crept even further in to birth, even during my time as a midwife.

I wanted to find a way to help women and their partners to step away from these crippling fears about birth and show them how they could start to see birth in a different light, as a truly amazing and empowering experience, whatever the kind of birth they may have.

So I trained to be a Natal Hypnotherapy Practitioner and later a HypnoBirth Practitioner . Since then I have helped lots of couples to change their view point and to feel excited and look forward to the birth. Many former clients have experienced wonderful, manageable births and all the couples, even when interventions were need, felt in control and were able to use the deep relaxation and visualisation techniques they had learned in our sessions to make the birth the best one possible.

However, the  courses I was running still did not feel like the perfect recipe to me even though the couples benefited greatly from them.
Then I found out about Mindful Mama from a friend who is a Cognitive Hypnotherapist  and we both decided to Train as Mindful Mamma. Practiitoners.

To me, it is the perfect course , short, sweet and affordable yet containing many important layers of  knowledge and techniques which the couples then go away to practise at home. A perfectly condensed package which is great value for money and delivered by experts!

Annika Tavilampi Region Chelsea and Westminster

Annika is employed full-time as a midwife in one of the major teaching hospitals in London, and runs antenatal classes as her main duty. She was led to becoming a clinical hypnotherapist with LCCH in search of the perfect ‘thing’ to teach her mothers to enable them to have the best possible birth. Inspired by her experiences working and training in smaller units in Finland and Sweden she knew how peaceful and empowering a good birth can be. Annika also runs a VBAC clinic which she feels very passionate about. With Mindful Mamma Annika feels she has found the best of the methods available to make real difference to the expectant parents to take charge of their birth.

Natalie Van Rooyen Region Surrey and Kent

Since qualifying as a Midwife in 2003 Natalie has largely worked in an Independent capacity to support women to give birth at home, or in the first private Birth Centre in the UK.  Natalie has dedicated her career to supporting families to achieve the experience of their choice by providing unbiased, individualised care that places the family at the centre. Natalie passionately believes that with the appropriate emotional preparation birth can be, and should be, a positive celebration despite the place or type of birth. Natalie relishes the opportunity to facilitate women to draw on their own strengths and innate power to meet the challenges of childbirth and parenthood and never ceases to be amazed by the capacity of women to transform.

Natalie has been facilitating women to utilise hypnosis techniques during pregnancy and birth since 2003 and was so inspired by the results that she qualified as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner in 2008 with The Quest Institute. Natalie has completed childbirth hypnosis training with HynoBirthing, Natal Hypnotherapy and Confident Childbirth prior to choosing to join Mindful Mamma. Natalie feels privileged to have been able to support women with hypnosis during labour as well as pregnancy.

Natalie currently works within the NHS and an Independent Midwifery Practice, Yours Maternally, in addition to providing hypnosis for childbirth.

Hypnotherapy techniques and a mindful approach to birth facilitated Natalie to personally experience the joy of pregnancy and birth when her first son was born in 2010.

Sabrina Gant Region Sussex

Sabrina Gant Sussex

As well as being a Mindful Mamma practitioner, Sabrina is also a qualified NCT Advanced Antenatal Teacher and Birth Companion.  She has also had additional training around hypnosis for birth.

Each of her three births were different experiences and she used mindfulness in labour to make each one the best birth for the baby on the day.

Sabrina believes in women’s innate ability to birth; as a birth companion she has been with many women birthing and these experiences allow Sabrina to enrich her classes with her own experiences of supporting women in labour, especially those where hypnosis and mindfulness for birth has been central.

Having built strong and close relationships with local NHS trusts, Sabrina actively engages in improvements for maternity services across the Surrey and Sussex regions through meeting regularly with maternity staff and through Maternity Services Liaison Committee (MSLC). Having built a good reputation with both local hospital and community midwives, allowing them to trust her to work co-operatively
alongside them, Sabrina has been asked to interview midwives for vacancies and contribute to general maternity improvement programs.

With a firm belief in there being no rights and wrongs within birth and parenting, Sabrina will not
tell you what or how to do anything. She will instead provide evidence based information and guide you, helping you to make the decisions that are right for you and your unique family.

Sabrina aims to help you to shape your birth making it your best birth for your baby and an experience that enriches your life. A time that you will always remember with a smile.
