Hi Sophie,
Hope you are well. I just thought I’d let you know that Jason and I had a little girl last week.
Alice May was 6lb7oz, and born 4 days early, in an unplanned home birth in our hallway, delivered by her slightly petrified but very proud dad, after qmc sent me home twice saying I was not in active labour! So, no pain relief for me, just breathing, relaxation and self hypnosis- oh, and a couple of paracetamol… I just wanted to let you know that both Jason and I firmly believe the hypnobirthing course was a huge factor in allowing me to stay calm and focused during Alice’s birth. I did not even realise I was at the pushing phase until her head appeared- my body really must have taken over. Jason would go as far as to say that it was the best thing I did during my pregnancy, taking me from being very fearful about giving birth to looking forward to it in a calm and positive manner.
We’re just about getting over the shock of Alice’s arrival now and settling into life as a family.
Thanks again for a really worthwhile day back in January.
Kind regards Hannah
