Up and Coming online workshop dates: 29.8.2020
Hi, I’m Dani and I run Mindfulmamma hypnobirthing workshops in Harrogate. My other professional roles include Registered Homeopath, Pregnancy Massage Therapist and Pre & Post Natal Yoga Teacher, which I run within the Harrogate district.
Passionate about my work, I feel honoured by the many women that allow me to walk beside them for such an important part of their journey through life. As a holistic health care practitioner and wellbeing advisor I enjoy the diverse and enriching knowledge that I’ve gained over time and feel blessed to be able to share it with my clients.
A woman is designed to both grow and birth her baby – all the power she needs is already within her. Mindful Mamma Hypnobirthing techniques will help her to recognise this. By practicing light self-hypnosis it’s possible to access a naturally occurring state of relaxation. This benefits both mother and baby and provides a solid foundation at the beginning of their journey together, during pregnancy, that continues well beyond birth.
My aim is for parents and parents-to-be to feel more prepared and empowered by the skills they will gain from the Mindful Mamma method, confident in their body’s own natural ability to birth, relying more on their own resources and instincts for birthing, new parenthood and beyond. From my own birth experiences and hearing the many birth stories that my clients share with me, this has taught me that while every birth is different, using mindfulness enables us to be as prepared as possible and more open to whatever situation we find ourselves in the day our babies are born.
Why I love teaching Mindful Mamma
From the methodology of self-hypnosis, to the philosophy behind the powerful mind body connections, I love to explore the use of simple, practical techniques such as creative visualisation, self-hypnosis and mindfulness which mums-to-be can use to alter their perception of pain, boost confidence and feel in control on the day they meet their baby.
The fundamental principles that under pin each one of my professional roles unites them in the belief that less is more, all our approaches are personal and individualised and our ultimate aim is for subtle but tangible shifts that enable clients to tap into deep inner resources with ease and confidence.
The one day workshops are run for small groups to keep the space I hold for you more comfortable and nurturing. Your booking will allow space for up to 2 people and we encourage birth partners to attend as a large section of the day is focused on their role during the birth.
The ideal time to attend is between 25 and 36 weeks pregnant – this allows time to practise the techniques, without being too long before the birth. Don’t worry if you can’t get to a workshop at that time though – the techniques can be very effective even if you attend much closer to your due date. You’ll be able to access some Mindful Mamma hypnobirthing mp3 downloads on booking a place, so you can start to gain some benefits by listening to these before the workshop, which we do advise. Extra material and MP3’s, plus access to the members only area of the Mindfulmamma website will be available after you complete the workshop.
Please contact me at email@example.com if you have any questions about my workshops or to discuss any special requirements. Im always happy to answer questions, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
The cost of the class is £135, with a SINGLE non-refundable £35 deposit needed to secure a place for your self and your birth partner on booking. The balance due 10 days before your event.
One to one sessions are available on request. P.O.A
I very much look forward to welcoming you to The Mindful Mamma Method.
“I didn’t think hypnobirthing was something I would be able to do or believed that the methods could work easily for everyone. It was something I wanted to do but I had assumed that in order to fully embrace a natural and gentle birth I would have to be practicing this for a long time and be a certain type of person. I had assumed I could half do it but would still need all the pain relief in the end!! But after finishing our private session with Dani… It is amazing and life changing and anyone can do it!! I have no doubt that my body is not only designed but capable to be able to bring our little girl into the world in the most natural and peaceful way that will be positive to us all as a family but especially to her. I feel as though all expectant parents should be able to access and practice this throughout their pregnancies, as the difference I have felt in the days preparing for the course and after the course have been truly unbelievable! I feel calmer and more relax and that the weight and dread over the actual birth has been lifted meaning I am able to just enjoy and be excited about the arrival of our baby girl. I also had huge anxieties about how this course would be able to run online and whether or not it would be as beneficial, especially as I don’t really engage well with digital communication of any sort. I was extremely surprised that this was as good as I could imagine it to be and felt as if we were sat in the room with Dani herself. It felt really personal and connected. Even the techniques were easily followed and we were able to fully engage with all relaxation and breathing exercises. Dani is very relatable and quickly built a relationship with us that made us feel very relaxed and comfortable and not self-conscious in the slightest. Because of the nature of the classes one to one worked better for us especially my partner who would not have wanted to do it in a group. My only regret is not doing this much sooner!! Thank you again for such a great course” – S&J Knaresborough
“After hanging onto a lot of fear around labour and birth following a tough and very medicalised first birth with my daughter, I really wanted to give it a proper go ahead of the birth of my second baby and I am so so glad I did – it was an absolute game changer. Specifically, your sessions gave us the confidence to go for the labour and birth we wanted, to stay at home as long as possible to max out those oxytocin levels and to make sure we had the best environment for a calm birth when we got to hospital. I laboured at home initially, in and out of the bath and over the ball with candles and the hypnobirthing tracks on and when we went into hospital early the next morning we got the birthing pool with an amazing calm and non-intrusive midwife who totally got how and why we were hypnobirthing and left us to it unless we needed her. I gave birth to my baby boy in the water going with my body’s urge to breathe him out, not pain-free but absolutely manageable with gas and air and instinct. Thanks to all of the prep and practice we did with you in our sessions, my husband was amazing throughout and kept me going with the “3, 2, 1, relax, relax, relax” and counting down through the surges. The ‘blowing the candle’ visualisations also massively helped in the first stage of labour. So glad we had our sessions with you as they really did make all the difference, you helped to switch me mentality from being scared of birth to realising that my body could and would birth my baby in the best way possible – thank you. I am so proud of how it all went – whilst every birth is different, it does not have to be something which ‘happens to you’, rather, it can be a massively empowering and amazing experience!” – Vicky & Toke, Harrogate
“Well the excellent news is that baby J was born at home, just 3 hours after his IVF due date! We declined induction and in the days that followed I had monitoring at hospital for reassurance and then did lots of hypno tracks, walking, house prep, raspberry leaf tea, clary sage massage, squatting… I’m so pleased we had a home birth!! Contractions began at 6pm ish Weds and he arrived 3am Friday. The golden thread breath was a total crutch and the sheet of paper you provided which J read out to me about visualising getting through each contraction he must have read 600 times! I didn’t need any pain relief except the pool – which was bliss. The MindfulMamma MP3 tracks were on continuous repeat on the stereo for pretty much the whole time and probably drove everyone else crazy but they were a life line. I feel so fortunate to have had you as part of my journey getting ready. The prep you did with us would have helped me whatever birth we had! But I appreciate you went the extra mile to make sure I had as much help as I needed to prepare for the birth that was right for me. I had about as perfect an experience as anyone could hope for and I feel incredibly lucky. Thank you for everything! ” – LB – West Yorks
“The 1/2/1 hypnobirthing session with Dani is a fantastic way to prepare for the birth of your little one. Her relaxed yet informative approach and the real passion she has for the techniques makes for a wonderfully relaxing and engaging course. To feel prepared and relaxed for labour, to feel informed and able to question any recommendations or decisions you’re asked to make during labour, to help make birth a positive experience! I finished the day feeling calm, excited and ready for labour….what more could I ask for! Thank you Dani” – Caz & Dan – Harrogate
“Your style was relaxed and informative without being too much, it’s exactly what we needed in terms of introduction, reasons why to adopt some of the principles and why practicing is so important. The practical sessions were really good in understanding some positions and breathing and would definitely say it was good to have my birth partner there to help with support, asking any questions and understanding what the principles of hypnosis and breathing are to help support me before and during labour. We both found your session relaxed and really helpful, the perfect balance for us as you responded to our questions and level of knowledge and tailored the session which felt like we were getting the most benefit of your knowledge. The guided meditation has been brilliant to ‘extend’ your session and has helped me to wind down as I’m still adjusting to ‘mat leave’ having worked super hard for years!! A big thank you from us both xx” – PC- Harrogate
“Dani has been simply fantastic. She has stayed in contact since our session together, checking in to see how I was, sending useful links and resources. The practical tools she has given me along with the course itself are invaluable and I very much appreciate the time she took with me and my partner. I feel far better prepared as a result and more confident whatever happens in terms of home birth, which I’d prefer – or if things end up taking a different course I know I have tools to help me. I certainly feel better prepared than I would otherwise have been and it’s made a real difference to my confidence in terms of what’s to come – and I can’t wait! Thank you!” – Lara- Leeds
