I’m guessing you’re here because you’re pregnant?
I’m Sarah Doman
Let’s chat about birth fears…
It all starts with a late period, you’ve wee-ed on the stick to confirm what you already knew, been to your doctor, maybe even had a scan and seen your little peanut wriggling around in your belly!
And you’re excited, but you’re also kind of scared.
Someone mentioned Hypnobirthing to you, and I’m guessing that’s how you found me?
And I’m here to tell you there is another way…
I offer one-to-one support or group workshops to allow you to not only let go of your fears about birth, but actually being excited about it (yup, I said excited!).
You already have all you need within you to have the birth that you desire, you just need to unlock it, and I’m going to help you do that.
Knowledge is power, but when there is so much to learn where do you start?
Let’s keep it simple:
I need one day of your pregnancy, 0.5% of your 40 week pregnancy
I’ll arm you & your birth partner with the knowledge to tackle any birth scenario. This would mean you can enjoy the remainder of your pregnancy with full trust and love for your baby and your body.
The resilience you build isn’t just for birth, did you know that women who use Hypnobirthing are less likely to have a birth with interventions and postnatal depression?
What do people say who have taken my workshop?
We both feel really well prepared. N feels confident in his role as a birth partner, and I have a clear picture of the kind of birth I would love, and feel prepared with all the techniques to do so.
When I was pregnant I said that I was calm, but on the inside, I wasn’t.
But when I found Hypnobirthing, I kept coming back to the fact:
Your body wouldn’t let you grow this baby if you couldn’t birth it.
I know you know this, but I also know that you don’t believe it’s possible for you (yet!).
So what if I told you that I could help you:
- fill in the missing science gaps from school-which are critical to understanding how you can and will birth your baby
- use hypnotherapy to replace fear of birth with excitement
- give you the tools so that you & your birth partner can navigate ANY birth scenario and still come out feeling positive
Sarah’s advice on how to manage our way through a variety of birth scenarios was so comforting
As well as being a certified practitioner, I take my workshops to the next level through the experiences and accolades I’ve picked up so far in my career;
I have worked with families for over 13 years, as a qualified Teacher. I have lectured, delivered workshops on large scales, as well as extensively working with parents and other professionals on a 1:1 basis, to get the best outcomes for children.
Transferring this to my Hypnobirthing classroom means that I know how to create the best learning environments, make you at ease, oh and I make a mean cake which essential to the success of every workshop!
I have given birth using these techniques, they even gave me the confidence to have our baby at home.
Mindful Hypnobirthing-what is it and why do we need it?
Hypnosis is about creating a state where something can be changed- smoking/fear of flying. We need that because society has taught us that birth is something we should be fearful of, so if you’re afraid even though you know women can birth babies, it’s not your fault. These fears sit deep within our subconscious.
So, the hypnosis is really for pregnancy; getting rid of all those unhelpful fears. Mindfulness is what you use in birth.
This is where Mindful Hypnobirthing differs from other methods.
Mindfulness comes from ancient Eastern wisdom traditions and there is now impressive evidence to support what has been practised and understood for thousands of years; our body and mind are intimately connected.
Our nervous system controls our vital bodily functions (including the function of birth), and it can save our life when we are in danger. When we are afraid, our nervous system produces chemicals to keep us safe. An amazing function but sometimes unhelpful in the modern day birth environment: because our brain can’t tell the difference between a perceived threat or a real one, if you’re afraid in labour, the release of these chemicals into your blood stream would stop your birth to allow you to become ‘safe’.
Mindfulness helps re-balance our nervous system allowing you to use the birth hormones to their optimum levels.
The other key aspect of my workshop is learning the physiology of birth and what choices are available to you; show you how to navigate the maternity system.

A big thank you to Sarah for such a fantastic experience. I couldn’t recommend her course more highly and her support throughout has been phenomenal
When is the best time?
The best time to take a workshop is 25-36 weeks of pregnancy. This will give you plenty of time to practice the techniques in preparation for birth.
The earlier you start the better; women who have regularly practised the techniques and are confident using them in their birth us the techniques the most successfully.
