Gentle Caesarean
Sometimes people assume that there is no point in doing hypnosis for birth if they are likely to have a caesarean birth. This isn’t true, preparing with hypnosis, mindfulness and relaxation during pregnancy will benefit both you and your baby. Your baby will enjoy the moments that you are relaxing feeling what you feel. If you are stressed your baby can feel it and we know that the environment in the womb can have an impact of your baby’s brain development. My Baby is Breech. Help!
You may have been told that your baby is breech. Stay calm, babies can be breech right up until labour, especially if it’s not your first baby. I’ve even seen mum’s told their babies are breech, fretted about it for weeks then at a scan find their baby is head down after all. Why babies are breech is a mystery, some people believe that they get settled upright and are comfortable, it may be down to the individually physiology of the mother’s womb or a short cord. Others believe that sometimes the reason a baby is positioned that way is because it’s the best way to be born. What if I’ve been diagnosed with Group B Strep?
If you have been told that you are Group B Strep, you may be upset, you may think that your baby is in danger. You may have been told that you have become ‘higher risk’ and may be concerned that your hypnobirth is out of the window. This isn’t the case, Group B Strep only rarely causes complications, it’s not routinely tested for in the UK and many thousands of women probably go into labour completely unaware that they have it. In fact, just because you are positive 4 weeks before labour starts does not mean you will have it during labour, likewise a woman who tests negative 4 weeks before labour may have it when she goes into labour.
